Greetings Art Enthusiasts!
Begin the New Year by indulging your craving for creativity. If you've always wanted to learn how to work in either soft pastel or oil, now's the time. Classes are forming now to fit your schedule, day or evening.

Experience the sheer joy of artistic expression in your chosen media, or try both pastel and oil! Just bring your enthusiasm along with your photos and supplies, and learn the elements necessary for creating your best work of art. We'll cover composition, focal point, value, color, edges, line and more. Learn by watching a demonstration and receive individual attention. Instruction is tailored to each individual artist, and you'll be encouraged to develop your personal style at your own pace. Some previous drawing or painting experience is recommended.

Learn the various techniques in the creation of an under-painting or “toned ground”.
Techniques using both hard and soft pastel will be shown. Differences in pastel painting
surfaces will be discussed. Learn how to take an average painting on to the next level.
We’ll even talk about framing. Come ready to paint, expect demos, and lots of one-on-one
attention at your easel. Instruction is tailored to the needs and goals of the individual
in a relaxed atmosphere encouraging experimentation. Prepare to become addicted
and have fun.

This workshop will explore the use of soft pastel as a painting medium to create traditional
artwork with personal expression. The emphasis will be on the landscape or still life.
The student will choose the subject matter. Strategies for creating a painting or "toned ground"
will be demonstrated including the use of wet media. Technique using both hard and soft pastel
will be explored. There will be demonstrations and individual attention.
